2001 XJ Sport! There is a box infront of the gastank mounted on the under carriage with some lines going to it what is this box any Ideas?

I was wondering the same thing myself... I noticed that thing too when I lifted my 01 the other week... Was thinking it was something to do with the fuel pump, but didnt really look into it... Would be kinda interesting to know what it really is haha if you need a pic I can almost walk under there now ;-)

it stores gas vapor during periods of inactivity until you restart the Jeep. The canister purge valve will open when you start it and the vapor will be drawn into the combustion chamber and burned.
