No Bus inication?

On occassion i'm getting a 'no bus' indication on my 99 cherokee sport. It disables my speedometer, rpm gauge etc...its odd cause it'll go back to normal if i turn my lights on then off. Any ideas?

Generally, it means you have a bad connection to the instrument panel. You'll need to remove it and clean the contacts.

After doing what Saudade said, use dielectric(sp?) grease in the connectors this tends to help. If this gets too bad there is a TSB# 08-15-99 that applys to this problem and involves a revised set of connectors with a tighter fit. the cluster just rides in those connectors, they don't clip in and the loose connection causes the "NO BUS" message.

By taking out the gauge cluster. Do a search and find out how to tear into a 97+ dash, as i cant help you and have an 88.
