Hey guys....
I searched but did not find a specific answer. I went to get get an alignment since I added my RE drop brackets and am sitting at 6" of lift. I was shooting for 5-6.5 degrees of caster. The guy showed me the pinion angle and it was not quite parallel to the ground but close. It was also at 1 degree caster. This obviously made the ball joints sitting almost over top of one another and needed to have the pinion pointed down toward the ground further. However, doing this will make my driveline vibe more (slightly does it at 60-65) since it is already at a steep angle compared to if the pinion was adjusted upward. He said he could use offset ball joints to allow me to keep the pinion where it was but be able to get the 5-6.5+ degrees of caster I need....does this sound right? I thought offsets only allowed you to adjust camber. The posts I have read never mention offsets when mention caster. My camber is of since I have a worn lower one anyway and since I have to replace it I figured I would replace them with offest and fix my camber and caster issuses. Does this sound good or should I be able to put in stock ball joints and still be able to adjust caster where it should be and also make the driveline be happy. Thanks for your expertise in advance.
