Drive shaft length change?

As many know, im throwin in the D44 this week...

I want to get all in order so that it goes smoothly.. was thinking that i could get the driveshaft shortened ahead of time so i can be done all at once.

I am replacing the D35, but i just want to make absolutely sure that i have to shorten the shaft by 1" to fit the D44.

Is this correct?

I'd hate to have to change the length twice...lol been there already.

i used the same driveshaft in my YJ when i swapped d44 for d35, the pinion length is within .5"

I sure wouldnt do anything until I knew "exactly" what the numbers are.You didnt say whether itsa stock shaft or a CV shaft?

Its a TW CV shaft ....how much should i expect to pay to shorten it....seems like it shouldnt be too much just to cut and weld and balance...

It probably has enough slip to take the adjustment besides you will probably end up lifting it more anyway.
