This my first time using this so bear with me . 96 xj auto.When taking off I have to play the throttle to get it to shift from 1st to 2nd ( high R's)and when I slow down in in town traffic it drops right to first and I have to blip the throttle to get 2nd.

Throttle Position Sensor is suspect here.

I agree, TPS is bad most likely.

Yeah good point.But some dirt bag relieved me of some tools recently ,guess they thought they could use them more than me.
