6"x9" Speakers to Replace Factory Originals in the Rear Hatch

I have a 1991 Cherokee Laredo 4.0L 4x4 (AW4, NP242, Dana30F, Dana35R) with BADLY Deteriorated Factory Original 6" Rounds in the Rear Hatch. I've ALSO got a pair of Kraco 6"x9" 3-Ways in a pair of old speaker boxes, but no room in the vehicle to safely place them.

I was thinking of removing the Kracos from their boxes, and install them in place of the 6" OEMs, and include some pix of the project's progress as I do the necessary work. I even have ALL the necessary hardware, including screws and Nutserts for anchoring the beasts, as well as the necessary terminals for hook-ups.

If any of yous already have experience doing this install, please post your results on this thread to give me an idea as to what you've already been through. Thank yous all in advance...:sunshine:

Just an update: Found the 6"x9"s were Sparkomatic 693s, instead of their Kraco equivalent. Oh well, they're STILL a good speaker model, in spite of having been sold by K*Mart back in the day, and appear to be in mint condition. As I've said before, I'll post pix as I can of this install project.

Edit button was no longer available, so I've had to Quote myself to make further informational corrections. Oh well, pix will be coming soon enough...:wave1:

damn, sparkomatics? that's vintage lol
speakers sure have changed alot since back in the day.
the only thing i'd check is depth. i know my 4x6's in the back are pretty much against the back of the hatch. i'm constantly cleaning metal particles off that are magnetically stuck to the exterior of the rear hatch in a circular pattern the size of the speaker magnets. they do have spacers for that though.

Well peeps, I managed to get ALL the 6x9 Sparkomatic Speaker Installation work done a little less than an hour ago. Now how do I post pictures of my Work In Progress again...?:dunno:

Oh yeah, lemme see...

I'll post them on my deviantart.com account and link 'em from there...yeah, that's it, that's the ticket, yeah...

Holy cow, yes hehe.

Well I mounted mine horizontal but it requires the same thing; dusting out the garage - be sure to vacuum up well or you might have Miami Vice after you.
