I notice that pic 8 isn't the same engine that is in the truck. Seems to me like a case of too much money and too little sense.

LS-based motors are VERY reliable.

Great motors but he spent way too much on that swap

Those engines are super reliable. As for the reliability of a V8 XJ...that all depends on the skill and attention to detail of the person that built it. Personally I would NEVER purchase something that has an engine swap.

looks like whoever did the job did a very neat job-- fitting everything in there is tough-- I ended up putting the battery in the back in my 350 swap.

I agree though, 17k is too much. Every swap is a one-off. It may run perfectly now -- and with an ls motor, it will likely purr like a kitten at idle and roar like a lion at WOT, but if something goes wrong ... yeesh. Trouble shooting someone else's custom job is a nightmare.

Anyway, 17k is far too much money for this. I wouldn't even consider it for more than 10k, and most likely I think it's worth only around 6-7k. I don't have an ls motor in mine, but I do have a fuel injected 350 that runs perfectly, and if I ever sold it, I probably would be lucky to get 5k.

At the end of the day, it's a cherokee. You can get just as capable, newer, built 8-cylinder off road vehicles for much less. I'd stay away from it at that price.

Also, I agree, something is a little off here-- either this guy has not idea what the swap is (corvette covers on a gto motor? Different motor in one of t he pics than whats in the truck?), or he's selling it for someone else.

nice. I have a bunch of junk for the a/c in that corner (assuming thats the passenger front corner). I could possibly have put it front driver's side, but... meh... my engine compartment looks cramped as it is.
