I found plenty of duct tape in places other than the factory splices.....
It's okay to use on grounds, but I would be leary of it on power sources.
I got her back together this morning, after driving her home with the harness on top the engine (3/4 miles, so no big deal).
The TCM power wire was fuk't! I ended up replacing the wire from plug to plug....
I also re-wrapped it in e-tape and then wrapped it again in split loom, just be sure that the dash won't have a chance to eat my wires again....
This is the wrap job before the split loom went on.....
I think the fuel pump death was just a coincidence....(luckily it happened that way or I may not have a Jeep right now!)
