Whats in your XJ trail tool bag?

KRONIK

NAXJA Forum User
i am starting this as a thread for everyone to post up the tools that they carry all the time.

the P.O. of my jeep had one but he kept it....
i think it would be a good idea to get one put together seeing as how "Dutch" brought it up that i should have a D44 hub nut tool in my trail bag.

i went and bought a trail bag (bright green) so i dont loose it.
i also stopped by auto zone.
i am the new owner of a d44 hub nut socket!:yelclap:
that being said.

i think it would be good for alot of people (including myself) to know what tools everyone use.

this is all based on opinion.
a way to determine the most reliable trail tool bag!?!

here are a few questions to get things going-

what are the most common tools used on an xj?

what is in your trail bag?

what are good things to take to the trail in case of repair?

what spare parts do you carry with you?

thread is open to discussion

what are the most common tools used on an xj?
that you will likely need on a trail...
12, 12pt-13, 15, 19, 21, 36 sockets/wrenches.
dykes/pliers

what is in your trail bag?
impact, multiples of most tools. fluids. lighters, flashlights, jumper cables, straps, valve stems/cores, bottle jack(NO highlift), tire plug kit

what are good things to take to the trail in case of repair?
anything you can carry

what spare parts do you carry with you?
hubs, shafts, ujoints, tire/wheel, 1/4 fuel line, batterty connectors, steering components

i take what is neccessary depending on the trail, the people i am with, and my gut instint.
for moab i had everything possible in the rig....
for penrose i bring spare parts and fluids.
for eagle rock and such im likely to take a tent and extra clothes and food since it is a good hike away from people or cell service/cb range....

It's a Jeep. I always liked to pack spare rigs when I took mine out. That way I could leave Gheywinkle in the woods and walk away. :explosion

Listen, how many idiots do you know with 31s, no armor, and open front and back that have run Spring Creek with no winching and no body damage? If memory serves, your corn juice powered 96 even had to winch up the first obstacle! :twak:
