Sell tje 8.25 for 200 and pick up a 8.8 with 4.10 and lsd. Then put a full case locker in the d30

I did that. Found at local u pulland pay complete for $100. But the factory limited slip is pretty much worthless imo, unless both tires are on ice.

To the OP, if you have the NP242 tcase and would like to maintain use of full-time 4wd, then you should go with a Detroit true trac up front. I live in ice and snow country and would not compromise my full time. I have a Detroit locker in the rear. If I were to do it again I would really consider true trac both front and rear since I anticipate mostly moderate/scenic wheeling in my future. And...there are no clutches in the true trac to wear out.
Tru Trac rear and selectable front

C8.25 does not need carrier change.Thinking more than likely going tru trac or detriot lockers. I like the cost option of lunchbox lockers but by the time I pay for new carries think a trutrac will be the best bet. I remembered the other day both carriers will need to be swapped, 3.07 in the 8.25. I'll keep trolling through CL in hopes to find one if not just going to save my pennies until big sales happen. Also thinking I'm going to go with a WJ swap on the 30...
