Agreed 100%. It's already toast, might as well try it right?
 
I've got an idea dude.

Does your oven have a "Warming mode?" If so try sticking the TPS in at about 180 for thirty minutes, see what happens.

I thought of the same thing myself, but you would have thought the drive from Fullerton to Laguna Beach and back would have "dried" it out.

Yeah, I don't quite understand the HO wet TPS either so was throwing that out.
 
Take the sensor and put it on a cookie sheet. Put it in the oven overnight at 200-215 degrees.
