SeaFoam and MMO are the only "snake oils" I use.
Since switching over to Mobil1 High Mileage 10-30 and MMO(before oil change) have nearly eliminated my lifter tic.
The only thing I can think of still going on after shutdown would be: oil draining to pan, coolant pressure (possibly rising due to no flow and lack of cooling of coolant), contraction of cooling engine (different metals contracting unevenly),
