Hi Kenny,

As we are now in the regulated use portion of fire season the following rules apply:

Campfires
· Are only allowed in the metal fire grates installed by ODF in the fee campgrounds, developed day use areas, and designated dispersed campsites that are signed and numbered by ODF
(for more information about designated dispersed sites visit: http://www.oregon.gov/odf/tillamookstateforest/pages/dispersedcamping.aspx )

Cooking
· Charcoal BBQs are not allowed at dispersed campsites
· Only propane BBQs and camp stoves are permitted to be used during regulated use

Miscellaneous
· Tikki torches are not permitted.
· Smoking is only permitted in the closed cab of your vehicle, camper, or recreational vehicle

Required Equipment
· Each vehicle entering the forest is required to carry one shovel and either one gallon of water or a 2.5 lb fire extinguisher
· Motorcycles and quads in OHV areas are not required to carry this equipment on the trails but it must be in the tow vehicles.

Hope this helps!

This is interesting, I usually care a shovel and at least a gallon of water, but i did not realize it is required at certain times.
