I am puzzled, OK maybe not puzzle just coming to the fact the close system might be crap. Currently my jeep runs just under 190 degrees and can not get it to heat up until I start to climb a good grade (note I am in Colorado so we have some real good grades to go up). On the trail, highway (unless hill), and around town will not get to 190, however almost pegs out when hitting a pass or hard grade.
Here is what I have done and do to attempt to prevent it... New thermostat, new overflow bottle (sealed system so no radiator cap), Radiator 3 years old, resently flushed system, and new fan clutch.
When coming to a long climb I have an over ride switch on the Electric fan that gets turned on right away, allowing for both fans to be running all the time. I also take it out of over drive the first time it shifts down out of over drive.
Any other ideas? I think the rest of the stats on the jeep are in my sig below.
