those 8 bolts that hold the front peice to the brackets... are gonna break right off the minute you winch off it.. you want them in shear, not tension. which means parralel to your axles, not perpendicular....

have you ever seen a bumper built like that? theres probably a reason.

Not to be a smart a*$ but a bolt is much stronger in tension than in shear, approximately 1.7 times stronger.
 
its not being a smart ass if your right, im no engineer obviously. all i know is tow points like that wont last, never mind a winch mount...

you are absolutely correct sir. Grade 8 bolts are no stronger in shear strength than your typical grade 5 hardware store bolts. If you want to get into improved shear strength as well as higher tensile strength you're in the f911 grade bolt neighborhood. :D
