I am going to Tellico with some friends the first week of dec. I was just wondering if this is a good time to go. Will the trails be under snow or is it still pretty mild in dec?

It could have some snow...it could be 60 degrees. It's not high enough in elevation to be in constant snow cover in the winter. There are few places like that in the SE.

Make sure t is open. Tellico is looking at winter closures this year. Not sure if it will be everything or just the trails under attack.

The winter closures would start in January from what I have read on Pirate and NC4X4.

I think the trail closures would just consist of the more difficult ones including Helicopter, Schoolbus, etc...
