Part 3 is too shallow. Your pictures 9/28 7:44PM have a decent pattern, but you need to have approximately the correct pinion preload and carrier preload to really evaluate. Slight pinion depth changes can make a big difference, .003 for example, and proper preload will change the depth too since you were at 0. Just preloading the bearings if they are not can make a very noticeable difference. Pinion preload should be measured WITHOUT the carrier installed. Installing the carrier with proper preload would increase the overall preload measured at the pinion yoke.
