So here’s the build. I started with a 99 cherokee when I was 17 and built the whole thing in this build thread. Well if you read through you understand that my jeep ended up looking like this.

I was all fine; the jeep did what I built it to do, keep me safe. So I decided to get another Cherokee and build it back up. I wanted something different so I got a black 2001 with a TAN leather instead of black leather interior and with a 231 not 242 t-case, in essence the same car. So over the summer I rebuilt the jeep with almost all the same parts from the last jeep. The one thing that didn’t transfer over was the lift. I went with a rough country 4.5 x series this time instead of the 3 inch. All the other accessories are the same from the last build. I have used it for many different things for great times.

Got a little stuck

This doesn’t mean that there haven’t been issues. The jeep sat for 2 years before being donated to the Red Cross who auctioned it off to the person I bought it from. This meant that every part that needed lubrication didn’t get it. So since I’ve owned the car the thermostat seized causing me to overheat so badly I warped the head as well as corroding the tranny cooler lines, which luckily I noticed before destroying the tranny. So I have a 2001 Cherokee on 4.5inch lift 31 inch tires that are going bald and will need to be replaced, and stock axles, and an internship in Austin Texas this summer. As it is my total trip is planned for 8000 miles over a month or two, after the internship. So what should be on my list of things to take care of before this whirlwind adventure?

New serpentine belt for starters.
I have a brand new matching rim for sale if interested. Still has the brand new spare on it even though that would be a bit small for you. What did you do with your old XJ?

Thanks for the help. I just replaced my tranny cooler lines so I'll have to check on the collier itself. My last jeep got scrapped after I pulled most everything off it. Unfortunately it developed into a small mold farm so when I scrapped it, that was about all I was going to get out of it.
