Overkill D/S joint?

I've had to deal with my own DS problems this year.
Three wheeling trips, three broken DSs.
You're not breaking them due to torque or too much HP. You're breaking them because you are somehow putting them in a bind.
Better u-joints won't help that. You NEED to find the cause of the problem.
Going to a bigger joint, say a 1350, will only make things worse because they allow less DS misalignment than a 1310.
