Hey everybody, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is John Pugh, and I have been lurking and using Forums as a resource for a while now but only recently joined.
I live in High Point, NC. I've been here for about a year and a half since I got back from being overseas for 4 years. Now I am just in school.
Me and my Jeep: I bought this jeep last summer blown up for $1200 delivered (from the next town over), for the primary purpose of stroking (the engine lol). The stroker project took a while but I only really worked on it on the weekends, and it took a ton of time hammering out the plans and build details, but I insisted on doing every inch of it myself. The stroker project was awesome fun and turned out great! Mostly thanks to the Jeepstrokers.com community for being so cool and answering all my questions. Now that the stroker is running and the Jeep is back on the road, I can finally focus on giving the Jeep attention outside of the engine bay, which it needs pretty bad. It is my first Jeep but not my first 4x4, I went to Uwharrie once in my 4Runner when I was in high school. I plan on going back there over and over again in the Jeep once it's ready.
Here's the only picture I have of it:
That's the day after I bought it. No.1 Piston had an inch and a half hole in the top, and some impossible slugde. It had 265k on the clock when I got it. Now it has about 400 miles on the stroker. As you can see it has the sun-bleached flares that are next on the agenda, I have some forever black to put on them next week. While I was building the engine I retrofit the minivan overhead console, which has been awesome now that it's on the road. The interior is the next big thing to do in the near future, it is so filthy I can barely stand to drive it around, I am going to have to disassemble everything, clean it, and put it all back together. Those are just short term goals. Some of my longer-term goals include:
IRO Critical path 5.5" or 6.5"
33" or 35" KM2s on MT classic II black
Armor
Cut fenders and some sort of non-bushwacker flare solution. Relocated stockers or whatever.
Herculiner interior
ZJ front seats
OBA using second Sanden compressor (still have to design this)
Dual batteries
Winch maybe
lot's of other little stuff.
Anyway, Thanks for reading, I'm glad to be on here and I look forward to wheeling with everyone!
