Mystery front end clunk - no it's not TRE's.

I had a similar issue but I know you said its not your coils but my coils had the original bushing up top and the coil would shift a bit and there was a rivet I think on the body it would rub and it sounded pretty bad inside.so I installed energy suspensions bushings which gave 3/4 more lift and dropped the coil below that rivet and noise went away. keep us posted with what you find. but if it goes away when you brake it could be anti rattle clips. when I was younger I had a '88 ford ranger and I did brakes and I was like what are these little tin pieces and being young and dumb I chucked them in the garbage. well I found out what they where. everytime I hit the brakes I could here them shift in the caliper and when I hit bumps they clanked. might be a place to go good luck
