There's 6 inches of wet snow surrounding my MJ at the moment so I won't crawl under to confirm, but my recollection is that the thtree holes on each side are arranged in a triangle pattern that isn't parallel to the ground. If you flip the hitch over, the best you could hope for would be to have to drill out at least two of the three holes. Worst case would be that the side plates won't align and there would be no place to drill.
