Misfire!

Jeep runs very well and all at once it will cease to run for a second and then run perfectly again. This happens at road speed and at idle. Hard to trouble shoot because its very intermittant and seems to recover quickly. Any ideas?

1. Always post the year/engine. Significant differences through the years.

2. How fresh is your tuneup hardware? Plugs, wires, cap and rotor if applicable.

3. Any check engine light? If so, post the EXACT code(s) for comment

4. A crankshaft position sensor can cause a momentary "blip" as it is a critical input signal and without it, you lose spark and you also lose fuel TO the injectors.

Not all codes trip a CEL--have the codes read EVEN if you don't have a CEL, be sure to post up the complete numbers.
