Late model side view mirror swap

I've been wanting to do this late model mirror swap on my 94 XJ for a while, but I could not find a good threat that showed the simplified wiring connections. So, I decided to make this thread and it is my first one. I hope it is helpful to someone else. This thread is for non heated power side view mirrors.

This is what my XJ looked like when I started

and this is the late model side view mirrors.

First step: For the wiring connections i took the connector from a 94 xj to splice onto the late model mirrors.

Now for the wiring splices:
White to White
Blue to Blue
Yellow to Yellow
Green to Gray

I also soldered all the connections.

Here is close up of the passenger side mirror installed.

Now I have larger side view mirrors that will fold in for tight trails that Mark and Ed will have me on in the future.

I just did the same thing on my 95 with manual mirrors. It makes a difference, minus having the look through the window split in the mirror.

Good write up. I need to do this as well. My mirrors are still just hanging by the manual adjustment cables on my doors. Lol.
