KOH 2013 - SEC takes it to the Rocks out West!

Looking forward to the pics!

I was streaming the race at work yesterday...needless to say not much work got done...

We've been here all week.

So far we've hit:

Sledge Hammer
Jack Hammer
Tack Hammer
Claw Hammer (went down after wrecking ball)
Wrecking Ball
Tin Bender (up & back down)
Boulder Dash
Resolution

Today we might run lower & upper Big Johnson & then run spooners canyon backwards over to the begining of Outer Limits & then take that back out.

On a side note, it is freaking windy out here today & has been all night! Made it hard to get any sleep for sure! We are still in bed where it is warm, just trying to figure out what we are going to do.

Camp is all packed up, and we are headed out of Johnson Valley...

Should be back in Atlanta late Monday night.

Come morning, will work on some wheeling pics... Way too tired now after packing and loading everything up.

Safe travels back home guys, my buddy Dave said he had a blast hanging with you guys. He texted me to get Tims number, and said the last thing he remembered before blacking out was arm wrestling Tim...lol.,

Holy Smokes, the hangover from that night took years off my life..........but worth it!

What a trip this has been!

I'll have to put a before and after pic of Floyd, but after beating it on every hard trail, NO mechanical breakage!

I did break the steering column on Resolution and after the thing fell in my lap on Outer Limits we had to remove the ignition switch so I could start the jeep!

All the nice new body panels are dented, both doors are caved in beond repair complete with busted glass, so all the gear that we have to store in Floyd whilst in transit is now getting wet from this stupid snow.

So the list of completed trails is as follows:

Sledge Hammer
Jack Hammer
Tack Hammer
Claw Hammer (went down after wrecking ball)
Wrecking Ball
Tin Bender (up & back down)
Boulder Dash
Resolution
Lower Big Johnson
Upper Big Johnson
Spooners Canyon
Outer Limits

There are a few trails we didn't get to run, but if we ever get another chance, I guess we can hit those then. However, if we don't. I can confidently say that we had a successful trip & conquered the hardest trails Johnson Valley has to offer. We even showed up one or two of the racers. Guess us southern boys (& girls) have what it takes after all!

So is Floyd giving Ghost a run for it's money in body damage now?

floyd apparently doesnt enjoy dressing up

It's not bad. Some fairly minor damage to the front fenders, but the doors are killed. Should have left them at camp! Other than that, not too bad.

Guys just pulled in safe. Look forward to hearing the stories.

Took 49hrs to get there and 44.5hrs to get home... Man what a trip!

Pics are coming, no worries :)

Way to go. Your really taking advantage of being out there. Earlier on it sounded like you were just going to do one or two trails and head home. Really glad to hear you ran so much. Particularly nice that you didnt kill the rig. Must be a good build.

Dont sweat the doors. Doors are cheap and are disposable door pillar "skids". Killing B pillars and C pillars is a real pain to fix if they can be fixed.

2 door doors are getting harder to find....besides he had to beat all the pillars back straight to get them to fit :D

and trim 4" off the bottom of them to fit his ultra high rockers...

As promised... some pictures from our week in the desert wheeling, Hammertown, race rigs, camp, and our return ride home. They aren't in any sort of timely order unfortunately but you'll get the gist of the trip!
