2001 XJ Just under 119,000 miles. 4.0L, AW4, 231, D44s, Disc brakes. 35x17 Dick Cepek tires (70%) or more tread (some chunking) on 17x8 Dick Cepek wheels. BDS 4.5-inch long arm suspension with Prothane inserts front, 3.5-inch BDS leaves rear with large Daystar bump stops and a cut and fold wheel well mod. You can read more about the suspension/cut and fold here:

I intended it to be a crawler/pre-runner and the suspension is a little stiff unless the vehicle is loaded. It crawls well and is fun on the fire roads! Could use some bypass shocks and limit straps...I guess I am relatively new to pre-runners :).

It also has a BDS Tailshaft conversion. I welded in a Flowmaster muffler to replace the rusted factory muffler. I replaced the BDS track bar with a Rubicon Express track bar. I replaced the alternator roughly a year ago. Also a new NAPA A/C compressor was installed about a year ago. A/C blows cold, a must in AZ!

The axles are a completely re-built with about 5,000 miles on them. The front is an 1980 Wagoneer Dana 44 with Dynatrac axle brackets, 4.88 gears, Detroit, Warn premium hubs, Timken bearings. The rear axle is a 1996 Honda Passport Dana 44 with 4.88 gears, disc brakes, and a Detroit. You can read more about the axles here:

...and Here:

Only difference in the axles are the 4.88:1 ring and pinions, Warn premium hubs (front), I added a cast frond differential cover (front) and the rear axle has had the TJ brackets cut off and M.O.R.E. leaf spring perches added. I also have a spare set of front inner and outer axles (with full circle clipped Spicer U-joints) for the front and one spare shaft for the rear axle. I am running the factory Master Cylinder with the o-ring removed from the metering block. The brakes work much much better than stock.

This was my daily driver/wheeler/camping mobile for a couple of years. I don't have to sell it, but I have not been driving it recently and could use the cash for other projects. I would not hesitate to jump in this Jeep right now and head to Moab for some wheeling or on a cross country drive. The Jeep is not perfect, but its about as capable and nice as any XJ I have driven.

I believe in full disclosure so here are the bads!
Bads:
The interior has some dog hair in it (no smell).
It has a little body damage:
-One dent on the drivers side rear door and rear quarter from a root in Ohio.
-Both right and left rockers have some minor rock damage.
-Some off-road pin striping on both sides (I wheel it).
A little rock rash on the wheels (I do have the center caps!).
Rear hatch may need an actuator before too long.
It occasionally has the hot start vapor lock problem associated with one fuel injector getting heat soaked (not a big deal, but its not ideal).
Minor rear main seal oil weep (Its a 4.0L).

I would like $7500 Or make me an offer! I would suggest that you look at it/drive it to make sure its what you want/expect.

Also if you are local to Phoenix I have one story in the works that I would like to do on this Jeep. I can tell you more if you are interested. Thanks!
