I've been AWOL for awhile.. this is why.

Ill throw in my 99 sl2 set up for track racing if you let me borrow the chevy every once in awhile lol
ha, deal. i actually have my saturn on cl right now looking to trade for a pre smog muscle car or 67-72 c10 short bed. longshot, but there are always people looking for economy cars in this economy.

mine is a great car and fun to drive but it has the common oil burning problem all the 1.9's get once they hit 100k. it burns a ton of oil but it still gets 30+ mpg lol

yea, my civic was like that...
mine has the ecotec 2.2 and a 5 speed. gets about 27mpg, not too bad for an suv with way more cargo room than the xj. even the way i drive i never see less than 23 combined.

Is that 6.90 a 1/4 mi run? I like the rims.

I traded my 2 door, the race chassis, and my pile of parts for a 67 chevelle last sunday. It was so clean I couldn't pass it up... it's got a 9" rear end, it's tubbed for slicks (which also came with it on centerline rims), has a trans brake with a 2500 stall converter, and a built 13:1 CR small block 400 set up for a 200 shot of NOS. It ran a 6.90 at irwindale last thursday on street tires and I haven't driven a car on the strip in 10 years so I'm sure that will just get better :D

the rims are iroc replicas, obviously bigger. irwindale is an 1/8 mile track.

Yeah, I have the same rim's on my Chevy. When I ran Irwindale, it was at the 210 and Irwindale Ave. It was a 1/4 mile. I've never been to the new track. Though when this truck is ready I'll come and run it.

irwindale is 1/8 mile, and yes those are repro chrome irocs, 19's in the front and 20s in the back.

I ran a 11.70 at irwindale in the XJ when it was on 31s and lifted 4.5"... I like to leave the "it's an 1/8 mile track though" part out of the story when I tell people :eyes:

the good news is even when racing, we all drive slow enough vehicles that noone would ever know. it will look like the battle of who could care less.
