springs CAN, but probably wont pop out. They're usually gummed up with grease and dirt. If they do, however, you should see quite easily where they go. There's only two places where they will fit and make contact with the other terminal/bands.
My Nss has been acting up for some time. I have read this repair/rebuild/bypass thread before. The other night when it finally quit I was about to disconnect the plug and "Jump" the harness with a pin. When I asked my wifr for a pin she asked why and I told her. She asked "Why dont you just jump it at the solenoid with a screwdriver?" So with the key On I touched the positive to the hot side of the solenoid and Viola!!
