how much gear for 30" tires?

BFG MT 32" + 4:56 gears = FUN! Reminds me of when I was on 27" and 3:55 gears. I'm just higher up now! I wouldn't hesitate to re-gear. It is expensive but if you like to enjoy driving your XJ, it's worth it.

32" with 3:55 was horrible.

Ahhhhh, well it's about 3200 at 80 mph and 2800 at 70. So 3000?

BlackSport, are you trying to tell me that you think Jeeps are not aerodynamic. I may not be an engineer, but rockets are shaped like bricks too.
I'm not an engineer either, but rockets are generally round and have pointy noses. Bricks are shaped somewhat like an XJ. Blunt nose, upright sides...etc. :)
