I am sure this is a dumb question and I think I know the answer, but I figured I would ask the experts. So how many? Going to replace them all. Any suggestions on brand? Part numbers?
The 760X joints will not fit in your axles unless you have ABS in the front. If you do not have ABS you need the smaller 297 Joint. 96-01 all have the larger 760 joint.
If you have alloy shafts, chances are they are 760x joints. For the TW shaft, I would contact them about that.Ok. So this isn't OEM anymore. But how about some information on how to identify exactly what u joints you have? I have a TW drive shaft, replaced front D30 from who knows and alloy front shafts.
I'd like to order replacements prior to dis assembly in order to reduce down time.
http://www.amazon.com/forum/-/TxJ38T5G7QP3NU/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza?asin=B00EYBXV48 says it comes with 7 u-joints: 2 for the front axles, 3 for the front driveshaft, and 2 for the rear driveshaftMy answer is probably in this thread somewhere, but I'll be darned if I can find it... I have been looking into changing my axle, front and rear drive shaft u-joints but did't know how many to get. I saw in this thread that "I need to pick up (2) 5-760X and (5)1310 joints?" plus extras of each. 7+ problem solved, yeah?
BUT, then I saw this spicer set that only comes with six
(http://www.jeep4x4center.com/spicer...erformance-universal-joint-spc-spl1014jk.html)
AND this graphic from the Dana website that shows 6 also.....(odd how only one is shown for the front axle, yeah?)

sorry, i couldn't paste the picture, so here is the link
Any Who, short story long, is the pack enough? How many do I actually need for a 99 sport, 4wd, auto, slip yoke, 4.0?
Thanks for your help,
Beau
