Help me avoid buying a rusty XJ please...

I am looking for a late model XJ from several sources - including ebay motors.

What states have a high number of rust problems - due to moisture, salt usage, etc.?
---
I used to live in Michigan for a couple of years, and they used a lot of salt on the roads.
I was also thinking of being cautious of vehicles from beach areas and from Utah (Salt Lake).

I don't think any state, could possibly use more salt than Illinois.

You cruise down the road, with the vent open in the winter you can actually taste the salt.
