This is something you guys are probably on top of.....

Haven't really been paying attention to the quality and designs of gas cans for quite some time...

but now that I'm involved in land management, getting fuel to our small equipment in the fields needs improvment.

we're working on some sort of drum/fuel transfer set up, but 1,2,5 gallon cans are needed.

the new ones totally suck.

what are you guys using?

That being said. The one I bought won from Adventure Trailers is the best new design I have seen. I still don't like the spout. I just don't use it. I just open it up and pour it into a transmission funnel.

The old German/NATO cans are the best IMHO.

Second place would go to GI cans.

And something I haven't tried but looks interesting: http://rotopax.com/

BJ, how many 5 gallon cans would you need?

I think 80-$100 per is ~going rate for a good NATO or Scepter can nowadays. Occasionally you'll find them a bit cheaper.. check your local CL.

Back when CARB compliancy was pending I bought a dozen NATO cans that this place http://www.swissarmyvehicles.com/ had imported in bulk and offered preorder deep discounts. They may still be doing so.. reach out.

I can't believe the price of jerry cans these days....

i remember when you could get 'em for 20-30 bucks.

i bought 3 of the 5gal no-spills just to get started. we already have a giant mess of cans sitting around. sun-faded, crack-ready plastic pieces of zhit with crappy nozzles.

It's a 20 minute drive to the nearest fuel, so not too big of a deal.

we will certainly go bulk delivery before long i'm sure.

I run the Nato cans. I keep a spare XJ fuel pump. I have a long hose and electrical wires with a cigarette plug. I can drop it in the can, run the hose into the tanks and watch it pump the fuel in without having to hold up the can. My cans are mounted on my trailer. The hose can actually run from the trailer to the vehicle so I can fuel without having to unlash the cans.
