found Chryco 8.25" for $200 - is it worth it for use with 32's?

I just ordered my 3.5" RE superflex and getting 32" BFG M/Ts soon. I have the stock d30/d35 in my '88 XJ, and I am told by some that I should be ok wheeling it as long as I don't beat on it too hard. Mostly mild woodsy trails and mud, no serious rock crawling. I found a 8.25" out of a 2000 for $200. Should I be ok with the D35 or should I really consider the 8.25"? Also how can I tell if it's a 27 or 29 spline. The guy at the junkyard doesn't know if it was out of an XJ w/ ABS or not.
Thanks

bigorgange, i am right up the road from you off exit 86 off of 395

i have a 8.25 you could have for alot cheaper than 200

Make sure its 29 spline. The 27 spline 8.25 isn't worth swapping in. The housing and r&p are stronger than the dana 35, but the shafts are not.

Why are there so many people running 32's instead of 33's? I never had any problems with my rearend running 33's. 2 of my buddys wheel tjs on 35s with stock axles. 33's are when you step up and say "OK LETS GO WHEELIN'".

good luck fitting them when most people only have 3.5 inches of lift. if you want to have any flex left even with triming, you need to run the 32's.

why would you spend $200 on a 8.25 when you could get a 8.8 with disc and stronger that both the d35 and 8.25 and it a pretty simple conversion.

I find 8.8's all the time for $100 in pick N pulls.

just my .02

I second that. I picked up my 8.8 lsd with disks for $180 and for what im going to be doing with it, its perfect.
