this is the one I am going to have installed... time unfortunately is the killer... I need the jeep back for my 70 mile round commute... at almost $700 for a stock manifold the locally bought $400 header is a deal...
http://www.jeepsandstuff.com/edjeshhe.html ow for AMC/Jeep. High-quality Edelbrock Shorty Headers bolt directly to the factory crossover pipe with no cutting or welding required for installation. These new headers feature 1-5/8" diameter cold rolled mild steel tubing that is CNC mandrel-bent for superior flow. Durable flanges are 3/8" thick (Jeep 4.0L headers are 1/2" thick), laser-cut, and robotically welded. Available with new Ti-TECH coating or high quality ceramic coating for the ultimate protection against corrosion, this is a premium line of headers for outstanding performance and quality. 50-state street legal.
Cool, I appreciate all the help I have received from here... it really boils down to time and I have been looking and reading a lot of information and decided to go with a brand name header... if it craps out I will have been educated... if it works cool and kudos... from what i understand there is a lot of sub standard mild steel being used in the cheap ones and Edelbrock seems to have a good rep with customer quality satisfaction... I am going to run a 2" flowmaster exhaust with it... I have Mickey Thompson 32" Baja's on it and could use a few more ponies with the Fpik kit as well...
run 2.25in and a dynomax superturbo, or a borla. the flowmasters are one of the worst "performance"mufflers out there. Unless you are in love with the sound, then go for it I guess.
