ECM Swap

I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4x4, 4.0L, A/TC.

Git a little bored today and hooked a SnapOn Scan Tool. The scan tool is showing that the ECM is for a 1992 Jeep truck RWD.

Could I have a Comanche ECM?

If so, should I stay with it or swap it. Cruise control is INOP. I also have the dome in the overhead console for the IR keyfobs.

There were some XJ's that were 2/RWD maybe yours was converted at some point, or the ECM fried and was replaced?
Have you checked your vacuum ball/pill apparatus and vacuum lines? Also, brake switch can have a part in CC inop.

I used the scan tool to verify that the switches and sensors are working. There is vacuum to to actuator under the hood. I need to get my hands on a Factory Service Manual.
