Driving without a shock...

I expected more fight but the nuts on my 99 punched out easily. Worth a try anyway.

I wonder if it depends on who was on the assembly line.

So I got the busted bolts out by pounding them. So what size of bolt should I use as the replacement?

nevermind. I used 3/4" length and 5/16" thread and now I got the new shocks in there!

Stock is 5/16"-18 size, you did the right thing.

no shocks... Hell I drove my jeep with dead shocks for over a year

I wasn't able to get my weldnuts out with an air chisel, drill. Ended up having to drill new holes in the crossmember (and cut my floor) to put in new bolts.

All of that for dead shocks. haha.

My 95 XJ has 190k on the clock now, I also broke all 4 of my rear shock bolts and rode with no shocks for a little over a month. Finally got around to getting an air hammer to it, knocked all the rusted together sh*t out of the way and did JKS BPE's and Rusty's +2" rear shocks. Now my leafsprings are shot, Jeep still rides horrible, sags, and makes creaking noises constantly. I hate Jeep for ever deciding to use bar pin style shocks, worst decision they could have made.
