It is the pinion seal, it is really easy to replace if you have a strong impact or a breaker bar. Remove the driveshaft, remove pinion nut and yoke, take a screw driver and pop the old seal out, and put the new one in. You don't have to worry about messing up the pinion shims or anything else. Get the new seal first so you know what it looks like. Pretty straight forward.
Check the yoke for a grove worn into it where the seal rides. If it has one replace the yoke as well. I think the yoke is cheaper than a speedy sleeve in this app.
