'01 53000 miles then, 66000 now, traded my '01 Ranger for it in Sept. '05. Cost me $300.00 because I kept my rims and tires.

96 bought in 1/04 for $4495 with a bad NSS. It worked beautifully for me for 6 months. They said they could fix it but it'd be another $400. I said no thanks I'll figure something out, right now it works. Thanks to NAXJA, I was told how to do it for $12.75. Bought some carb cleaner, grease, and a wire brush and did it in a couple hours. Its been great since.

Bought my brand new 96 11 years ago.

1988 XJ Pioneer, 193,XXXmi when bought.(August 2005)(Current mileage in signature).

Bought an 89 in 2000 for $400 to determine if I would like an XJ over my CJ7. Sold it in 2002 along with CJ to fund the 2000 XJ.

Bought a 2000 lease turn back in 2002 for $15K. still going strong.

Bought an 1989 for $50 in 2005 for a trail rig, runs good with 163K.

i personally would never buy a new car, i'll wait a couple of years to see if theres any recalls or defects, because ya never know what could happen

just my 2 cents;)

BTW

89 auto 700bucks last year

89 $600 bought 2 years ago 240,000 miles, it had been used hard and put away wet,
now 350,000 plus ( odo broken) and going strong

I bought my 2000 sport in 2002 with 25k on the clock for $13,995. Just turned 80,000. If this one lasts as long as my '88 pioneer (240k), I will feel as though I have gotten my money's worth. :D

Im amazed, over 90% bought used. I knew the majority would be used but I never thought 90%.

'91 XJ Limited with 150K miles on it for $3000

gently owned and maintained well by mystery persons prior to the high school kid I bought it from... he left it stock, replaced the motor mounts (but left bolts loose, lol) added desert pin-stripes and a cd player. He sold it because his head hit the headliner inside despite seat adjustments (can you say BIG kid?)
