Degrees before jeep rolls?

I always got a kick out of vehicles with tilt meters... especially when they were transplanted from one vehicle to another. Like another poster said... they don't tell you your tip point until after you tip.

A tilt meter would only be useful if you had done what math you can do to know what angle would over come the cog of your vehicle. Someone said its not a matter of if, but a matter of when.....

Yeah it happens.

That was really a great example. Imajine the guy on a side hill trail going real slow then he would be ok but with too much speed and a slight bounce and he's over. Most common rollover happens when you try to back down a hill. The proportioning valve makes the front lock and slide real easy. The proportioning valve reduced pressure to the rear breaks when you need rear breaks the most. Rear breaks don't stop, front locks up and slides and you get sidways and roll. I run no proportioning valve for my trail rig that sees limited street use. But back to sliding backwards down a hill and rolling, This is how you lessen the chance of rollover. Never look back or in the rear view mirror. Look up hill the whole time consentrating on keeping the front end pointed straight up. If you worry about whats behind and look back you will not be able to controll the front that is sliding backwards. Keep the front end pointed up the hill and don't look back when you are sliding backwards. Practice it on small stuff and it may save you.
The next most common roll is like the hummer going over side ways. If you are going sidways remember to allways point the front tires into the direction of the roll. Natural tendency is "I don't want to go down there" so you steer up hill or away from the roll and you go over. 1 slow on off camber to avoid a bounce. 2 allways look up hill when sliding backwards. 3 always turn into the direction of a roll unless you are backing down. Practice on easy stuff so it will be second nature when the time comes.
