Mine is a d/d with a 2 in ome i lifted it wheeled it put on sliders and 31's gas tank a tc armor sway bar discos and a locker all 1 at a time still daily driving going on vacations with it and all this on a fixed retirement income ' wasn't cheap but no more expensive than golf or sking or boating and lots more fun

You nailed it. I can build a crawler that would be right up there with a JeepSpeed rig as far as finances are concerned. Its not what is going to be more expensive; it's deciding what you are willing to put into the sport, no matter which direction you go. I put 15k into my XJ and then sold it for 5k. Simply because, in the end, I wasn't happy with how it turned out. My next build isn't going to be cheaper by any stretch of the imagination.
