The Dana 44 radius arm mounts look to be cast into the axle tubes rather than welded. Is that correct?

Just messaged him and this is what he said also he has a set of stock radius arms to include in the sale:

"Correct they are the cast wedges not the welded wedges so the dana 44 radius arms must be used but they can be extended and heimed"

Too bad they aren't closer. I have been running that D44 for probably 10 years. It was simple and cheap to put in an XJ. I added RE SuperJoints and fab'd up a wristed setup on the passenger side. You definitely need limit straps because it will really flex.

If anybody has any questions on how to do the mod, I can post up some pix and answer questions.

The nice thing on the front is that it uses nice big disc brakes stock and you learn to appreciate the locking hubs.

Dang. I'm in the market for a Dana 44 with the welded wedges, not the cast ones. Good luck to him.

Cast wedges are not the end of the world. Extended radius arms seem to work well and flex like mad although I've never run them. It's not that hard to build link/coil brakes that mount over/to the wedges either. If the price is right they can definitely be worked around. When I bought my 44 the ad said cast wedges but at $150 complete and geared 4.10 to match my rear 60 I was ready to work around them. They turned out to be welded wedges so they got cut off, but it's not a deal breaker.
