Slugs replace the selectable lockouts and give you full time 4WD, they're stronger.

If you know you'll not go above a certain tire size then a 44 may work, but if you have plans of getting a bigger and bigger tire then the a 60 is probably what you want to do.
You gain more than R&P strength, you also get the stronger ball joints and bigger brakes, lockouts, and serviceable bearings.
I probably have about a $1000 in mine, but I hit the for sale sections pretty hard and it only has a lunchbox locker with stock shafts. I also have crossover steering which is nice, but the rest is mostly stock.
