Ok so I decided to add cruise to my xj. After reading a few write ups, off to the junkyard I went. I found a 1997 model (mines a 98) that had cruise and had all the parts I needed: clockspring, actuator w/cable, and steering wheel switches. So I pulled them and installed them today. End result: no cruise. So what could be wrong?
When I switch the button "on", I do not have the green indicator on the dash and the cruise doesn't work. My horn works and the airbag light is not on. That tells me that the c/s isn't broken. I looked over the vacuum lines and they look ok. I'm not sure if they're connected, but I did pull the fuse to my abs system awhile ago due to the PO swapping the rear axle from a d35 to a c8.25. Just thought maybe the fuses were shared, so I wanted to throw that out there.
Any help would be appreciated!
