I have replaced the sensors, and yes it is only one sensor. I have had the rad flushed, and the heater was run at the time, etc. Plus this was all happening before I had it flushed and tstat replaced. I didnt do the replacement myself, but I have faith in the guy that did replace it. Unless the bleeder was upside down on the old one as well.... But this just started happenign over the summer, and the tstat had been in it since before I bought it. I agree that its acting electrical, but a bad wire would act up constantly, not only when its already hot and I turn the vehicle off then back on 5 mins later or so. And every time too, it never fails, I have the same stop to make monday and wednesday, and those are the only days it happens.
