Car alarm install,door trigger?

I bought a viper car alarm. I've got constant 12v wired, siren, and door trigger. It seems to be working though I think the settings are messed up but the door trigger is definitely not working.

I installed the door trigger NEGATIVE wire to the black /w white as per an alarm website. Is this the right wire?

Green is the alarm wire

Well I think the answer is it's because I don't have any interior lights installed to complete the circuit.
