Can tcase be engaged while rolling in Neutral?

I changed the '88's t-case fluid last summer. The fill plug was stuck (ended up being loctite, probably from factory). I went out and got a 30mm socket and 1/2 drive adapter - cost me about $15, but now I have it. That huge socket just helped out by hammering in my freeze plugs too. irate1:

I'm 99% sure my 231 just has a std flat bolt head.. no hole square hole for a break over bar etc.

The older ones had the large bolt.. newer ones had the 3/8" indent.

Yea mine is an '87.. i'd call it old..
