C8.25 with 4.56's question

Is the shaved down teeth for the cross shaft to be able to go back in? I was told it was, but want some more input.

Yes....BUT someone sure shaved the piss out of that tooth. You don't need to take that much off.

Does it come from the factory like that? I never shaved anything when I put my gears in.

I have been told by numerous people that they needed shaved down for the 4.56's so the crosspin will go back into the carrier. I bought these used, and they were already shaved when I got them.

i did it for 4.56s on my 8.25 Worked fine for several thousand miles and tons of trips. I actually had to shave a tad off of two teeth, it all depends on how you bolt up the ring gear to the carrier.

i've heard of shaving down the 4.56s before... think we had to a little bit on an 8.8

Or just get the cross shaft for that axle with the 4.56's.
