I believe you can. And I am sure there is a seal kit to close the disconnect fork hole on the axle too.

You need to come up with and install the correct seal, and there are about a half dozen seals that 'might' be the correct seal. I used all of them without long term success, and then pop'd the carrier out and ground the space behind the passenger side bearing to take an OEM non disconnect seal. Works like a charm.
