aw4, is this the original pan seal?

I got this trans off CL and I was wondering if this is the oem type of pan sealant they used. Maybe never had the pan off. The fluid was dark but didnt smell bad.
The seller said it was a higher mileage trans but was working good when removed. My original trans has 620,000 miles on it so I got this as a back up for $200.

Never pulled a tranny before, is it something to tackle in the garage with a HF trans jack?

Swapping a transmission isn't bad.

Get an E12 inverted torx socket, and some 3' long extensions. I pull the t-case off first because it weights the whole assembly funky off to one side if you don't.
