Ok, so a week ago my Jeep started randomly shutting down. I have narrowed the actual CAUSE of the shutdown to be the ASD tripping.
Two minutes later, starts right back up.
I have replaced the crank and cam sensors. I have cleaned and treated all ground and power lines.
I am fairly convinced that I have an intermittent ground somewhere in the wiring of one of the circuits controlling the ASD.
Now, since I know that it is not a REAL issue causing the ASD to trip, but rather more likely an intermittent ground/short situation causing it to trip, how risky would it be to just jumper 87 to 30 on the PDC to keep the Jeep running until I isolate the issue?
I know it is not ideal, but it would give me time to find the problem. I NEED MY JEEP.
**my other thought, if the Jeep was forced to run THROUGH the intermittent ground/short, it may be easier to identify.
Thanks
